The purpose of youth guided activities is to guarantee young cyclists the opportunity to participate in cycling coaching and above all inspires a young person to continue with the cycling hobby.
Summer season 2022
Training takes place at the Helsinki velodrome. You must arrive at guided exercises well in advance of the start of the exercises. If the young person lives at a suitable distance from the velo, it is good to practice coming to the velo by bike even at a young age. In this case, you already have the initial warm-ups and the final warm-up. At the most, the journey by bike to Velo can take approx. 20-30 minutes for a young person. You can't ride Velo in the rain. As a rule, the exercises are held regardless of the rain, instead of driving on the bike, side training is done on the bike. Changes will be notified by message.
The exercises must include:
- track bike (you can store the bike with a bike), at the beginning a road bike is also suitable
- helmet, cycling shoes, own pedals for the borrowed bike (which match your cycling shoes)
- something to drink, possibly also a small snack
- cycling clothes
- warm clothes for breaks
- sneakers
- Insurance is not mandatory, but strongly recommended (Finland's cycling license includes insurance)
It is good to have your own tools and pump on board, but these are also available from the instructor.
